WHAT IS KAIN?
“Kain” means ‘fabric’ or ‘textiles’ in Bahasa Indonesia.
ARE ALL YOUR GARMENTS HANDMADE? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Most of our garments use handcrafted textiles, using ancient tools and techniques that have been passed down and practiced by communities for generations. This means that our garments require special care but it also means that every garment is unique - as with all things made by hand, sometimes our textiles are not 1000% perfect however, our skilled tailors and quality control team have ensured that only the best and most perfect parts of the textiles are being used to create your garments.
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY GARMENTS?
Our garments are made with textiles created using traditional techniques, equipment & dyes and as such require special care. Please visit our Kain Care page to learn more.
CAN MY GARMENTS BE WASHED AND DRIED IN A MACHINE?
Most of our fabric ought to be hand washed using gentle detergent, or preferably, lerak (Indonesian natural detergent) to prevent dye transfers and fading. However, our lurik collection can be washed using a machine in the cool setting but we recommend drying on a flat surface, and not using a machine.
HOW ARE YOUR GARMENTS SOURCED?
Our garments are made in kampung (villages) by artisans who have been creating these textiles for generations, and where we can, we try to source all of the raw materials as sustainably as possible. Most of our collection is made using sustainable rayon from Riau.
WHERE ARE YOUR GARMENTS MANUFACTURED?
We are proud to say that our products, from fibre to the finished garment, are all made in Indonesia.

SHIPPING

HOW DOES SHIPPING WORK FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS?
As a small business based in Indonesia, we cannot send our items directly from Indonesia abroad, as such all orders will be shipped once a week, first to our Hub in Jakarta or London, then to your doorstep. You will receive an email as soon as it reaches our Hubs, followed by tracking number for your items. We appreciate your patience with us and we are working on making this as seamless as possible going forward - please check our website & socials for the most up to date shipment details. WHAT SHIPPING OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?
We offer free shipping to the UK & Indonesia. At the moment, we cannot offer free shipping Internationally - but watch this space!
CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?
You have 24 hours to cancel your purchase, after which we can only give you store credit, subject to availability.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ITEMS AS AN INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER?
All items will be sent according to the shipment date on our website. For international customers, your order will be sent to our London Hub on the shipment date, though note this usually takes 5 working days. You will receive an email when this happens, alongside your tracking number: please check your inbox for updates on your order from the courier.
WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?
We ship to Indonesia, the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Mexico and countries within the EU.
WHAT ABOUT TAX AND CUSTOMS DUTIES?

I MADE A MISTAKE! HOW CAN I CHANGE & UPDATE MY ORDER?
We all make mistakes! Please notify us within 24 HOURS of your purchase alongside your name & order number and what you would like to change to customercare@pedasssatelier.com and we will update your order.
HOW DOES EXCHANGE & RETURNS WORK?
We offer exchanges for items that are unworn, unwashed, in their original condition, with tags and packaging intact, subject to availability. Returns are accepted in special cases for store credit only. To learn more, check out our Exchanges & Returns Policies.
